When I think of John Wooden the words that come to my mind are dedicated, loyal, respectful, kind, and humble. This man was nothing short of extraordinary. For those of you who don't know who he is he was the great coach of UCLA basketball, and won 15 titles there. He is the best college coach of all time. He made all his players not only better at basketball, but better men. A notable player that he coached was Kareem Abdul Jabbar. He truly is an American Legend. John doesn't consider himself a coach, but a teacher first. Phil Jackson coach of the LA Lakers had to say this about John "He established a goal that is unreachable in college sports, he held it to such a standard that we all appreciate his teachings and mentoring of his college students."
He was 99 years old when he passed away on June fourth 2010. R.I.P. John Wooden
