Beginning the season

The MLB season is three fourths of the way, through the season and we now know the pretenders and contenders. There are only two months left until the playoffs. The Rangers have been a hitting powerhouse and they lead the division and look to stick to that after acquiring a true pitching ace in Cliff Lee. The White Sox are winning the AL central but the Twins (Twinkies) are closely behind. I fully expect the White Sox to win that division because of their very stable pitching staff. The AL east, the best division in baseball are ruled by three powerhouses Yankees, Rays, and Red Sox. The Yankees are going to win the division because they are by far the most talented team in baseball. The Rays are very very good and whoever finishes second in that division whether it's the Rays or Red Sox, will win the wild card. The NL west is being won by the most surprising team in baseball, the San Diego Padres. I don't know of anyone that picked the San Diego Padres to have the best record in baseball three fourths of the way through the season. The Giants are closely behind, but may not have the hitting to contend because they are being carried by a rookie catcher, and a 34 year old first baseman. The Dodgers will be in it until the end as well. The Padres will win that division. The NL central will be won by the underachieving Cardinals, and closely behind the Reds. The NL east will be won by the Braves, with the Phillies finishing closely behind and winning the wild card. Today was the first professional football game since the super bowl. It was the hall of fame game between americas team the Dallas Cowboys and the Cincinnati Bengals. It is preseason but hey it's still football. The Cowboys won, but it was the second and third units that carried them. The biggest story lines of the upcoming NFL season will be the two biggest and worst attitudes of T.O. and Chad Ochocinco playing together. Also Ben Roethlisberger being suspended for the first four games, and how the rookies will play. Albert Haynesworth the 300 pound defensive tackle for the Redskins finally passed his physical on the tenth day. After his first day of practice he now has sore knees. Out of shape? The NFL season will be very exciting this year.
