In a state of confusion, the NFL still held the draft. Whether or not their is even going to be an NFL season next year, is still undecided. I fully expect their to be, but then again that expectation may be made out of pure hope. This years draft was unlike any others in the past, simply because their was no player trading. Usually their are a few veteran players that get traded on draft day for picks, but this year because their was no player trading, you could only trade picks. This made for an even more important draft, and it was crucial for these teams to fill their needs on draft day or else they may not get a player to fill those voids because of the lockout. Cam Newton was taken first overall and although their are a lot of questions about him, his upside and potential is tremendous. If you draft a player like him, you are either making a horrible decision, or the best decision you have ever made. I am not sure whether he will become a huge success, but the potential is definitely their. The players that I think will become very talented at the next level are, Von Miller the Broncos OLB, Andy Dalton the Bengals QB and Mikel Leshoure the Lions new RB. The best players taken in each round that will have the biggest impact on the team are:
In round one: Von Miller Broncos
Round two: Andy Dalton Bengals/Mikel Leshoure Lions
Round three: Stevan Ridley Patriots
Round four: Greg Sals Rams/ Owen Marecic Browns
Round five: Jacquizz Rodgers Falcons
Round six: Ryan Whalen Bengals
Round seven: Greg Mcelroy
