NBA Finals 2011
The Mavericks vs. Heat. This is the matchup of the 2011 NBA Finals. After an extremely surprising season of ups and downs these two teams are the last teams standing. This season started with the best free agent class ever and Lebron's decision. Immediately all the attention was on the Heat and the spotlight has been shining on them all year. The Mavericks were one of the few teams that didn't make a move this summer because they were confident in their team. They are anchored by the best foreigner in the NBA of all time in Dirk Nowitzki. He has been playing out of his mind so far this post season and he has put the Mavericks on his back and carried them through the playoffs. The Heat are obviously the favorite and the sexy pick to win this series. It isn't a foregone conclusion though. As long as Dirk is on the floor the Mavs have a very very good chance of winning. The Mavs and their crazy owner Mark Cuban are hungry for a championship. I predict the Heat in seven games. Every owner should aspire to be like Mark Cuban. Not like try to model his crazy personality, but rather his hunger to consistently win. He constantly puts out a winning team and is dedicated to winning. He has built a winning team around Dirk Nowitzki, a very smart move. My top five prospects entering in terms of who I think will be the best players are Kyrie Irving, Brandon Knight, Enes Kanter, Derrick Williams and Jan Vesely. This year is stacked with European talent. Only time will tell whether or not any of them will ever be as good as Dirk.
