Sad day for baseball fans
The Yankees the best team in baseball had a rough week, not on the field rather off. First their ninety nine year old PA announcer Bob Sheppard passed away and two days later their great owner George Steinbrenner. Bob had been their announcer since the days of Dimmagio and Gehrig! Whenever Derek Jeter comes up to bat for the res of the year their will be a recorded voice of Bob announcing him. Many people believe that he is the best announcer of all time therefore earning the nickname "the voice of God". It was a shock and sad day for all baseball fans. But two days later came even more shocking news when the longtime great owner of the Yankees passed away. He is the best owner of all time hands down and has been the owner since 1973. He has seven world series titles won in the time that he has been an owner. He didn't start off always winning though. In his first sixteen years as an owner he went through sixteen different managers. He finally found a great one in Joe Torre. George was eighty years of age when he passed away and it is a sad day for all baseball fans. He first bought this Yankee team for 9.5 million dollars and now it is worth 1.8 billion dollars how is that for a business deal? George will be remembered for money being no aspect, and always putting winners on the field, and the best team. Many people say the Yanks buy championships but, you have to give the guy credit he always had great and winning teams. Most owners save and get young prospects, not George he just kept filtering in great players. It is a very sad day for all fans.
