turn up the Heat!
The king has a new kingdom! Thursday night July 8 2010 many Florida residents dreams came true. Lebron the most sought after free agent of all time has decided to sign with the Miami Heat, and play along side Dwayne "Flash" Wade and Chris Bosh, two all stars. We now know that Lebron did not care where his home was or where he would make the most money, or even where he would have the biggest spotlight, but where he could win championships. He is thirsty for a championship and the only way that thirst can be quenched was going to Miami. Or so he thinks. He turned down being involved in a billion dollar industry, offered by the Clippers followed by a chance to be on the biggest stage in the world in New York. He turned down an offer to be managed by a russian billionare, and his good friend Jay Z. A chance to play where Jordan played, and make a new legacy in Chicago, and most shockingly a chance to play in his hometown where he has lived his whole life. " I am hesitant in signing a 6 year deal with Cleveland, because I fear that I will wake up when I am 31, have bad knees and no titles" - Lebron James. Will Lebron win a title in Miami? How many? Can he play with two other stars? These are a few of many questions that will be asked when hearing the name Lebron. I don't like that Lebron signed with Miami for two reasons. First Lebron will not be a star anymore and even if he wins he will no longer be compared to Jordan or Kobe because he can't win championship without two other stars. Second, although this may put hardware (rings) on D-Wade and Chris Bosh's hands they will be hurt in the long run. These two players will no longer be considered some of the best in the NBA because they will be in Lebron's shadow, and Lebron is the king and they are mere role players. These 3 stars will have to take a step back from their glory days of being the stars of their teams respectively, and play together. This shows a lot of class for Dwayne Wade to let these two players come in and become a part of his city, team and legacy for the benefit of others. Miami will instantly be a favorite to win the championship, and deservedly so. They will be the favorites to represent the East in the championship. I expect this team next year to finish with a 61-21 record, win the East and go to the championships. In the championship, I expect them to face the Los Angeles Lakers, and the Lakers to win the series and three peat. The Lakers still are the best team in the NBA, although they may not be the most talented, also don't count out Boston. Miami will be tested because of the lack of support around the three stars. The Heat will have to sign 10 players all to minimum contracts just to fill out a team. Many good players will sacrifice money to play with these three, but not too many. The fact of the matter is you can't win with only three players, there also must be good role players.

ReplyDeleteUnbelievable article
ReplyDeleteonce again lebron is proving why he is not on kobes level. calls a national televised show for himself, takes the easy way out and signs where two other stars have signed. and all of hopes of retiring near jordan status are shattered. he gave up on an organization that gave everything for him. congrats on the 60 win seasons, but you will never surpass mj or kobe and you solidified that tonight.
ReplyDeleteNice post! I just went from hating RONDO's BOSTON CREW to lovin' them! Take on the HEAT!! I don't want to see Lebron succeed on this new team. And honestly, I'm not 100% convinced that he will.
ReplyDeleteWhat a total coward. This is a pathetic move by Lebron. I'm praying the Lakers pull in some fast, new legs that can shoot... I would LOVE to see a repeat!
Best line I heard all day... "After signing with the heat, Lebron announced he is coming out with a new iPhone. Vibrate only. no RING! "
Repeat? You mean 3peat! That is a great line haha. C Fo always great hearing what the marketing manager has to say and I couldn't agree more. Tim thank you very much. Whoever commented as anonymous thanks for the appreciation.
ReplyDeleteErik, I would love to call Lebron a coward in my blog, but I can't be biased.
ReplyDeleteman i hope D-Wade can put lebron in his shadow cause i think D-Wade knows the team better and will be better overall and this blog was great i love the unpredictable insight it was just a masterpiece well done Keegan.
