2011 Women's world cup & 2011 ESPY's

The 2011 Women's world cup was nothing short of a thriller. The USA women took on the women of Japan. The Women of the US were stunned as they and their number one world ranking were upset by a huge underdog, Japan. It was a game of letdowns and unlucky plays for the USA women. This isn't to take anything away from the womens national team from Japan. They fought hard the whole game and never gave up. Immediatley after they were handed the trophy, they dedicated the win to their country of Japan and all the victims of that horiffic tragedy. It was a great moment for Japan, but a rough loss for the US. The US women could have won the game, if they had gone into defense mode in the second overtime, rather than trying to score another goal. That plan cost them the game because it led to Japan scoring and forcing penalty kicks, which they dominated.
The 2011 ESPY's were, as usual very predictable. The Womens national soccer team won best play with the goal against Brazil, that kept them alive. Jimmer Fredette undeservedley won college male athlete of the year, as he beat out both Cam Newton and Kemba Walker. If anyone disagrees with me and thinks Jimmer deserved this award, then let me know and I will tell you why he didn't.

  2. Cam Newton and Kemba Walker both deserved the award over the more popular Jimmer. Cam is an unbelievable athlete and led the sec in passing and rushing, the nations hardest conference. He also won the heisman, led Auburn to a national championship and an undefeated season. He did this with very little talent around him. Kemba Walker was not the most talented player in college basketball this year, but neither was Jimmer. But Kemba was the best player this year. He was third in the nation in scoring, led his team to a Big East conference tournament championship, in which he won MVP. But he also won NCAA March Madness player of the tournament and led UConn to a national championship. UConn was picked to finish 8th in the Big East at the beginning of the year which shows how little talent Kemba had around him. What did Jimmer do? Didnt lead his team to a national championship or even a conference championship. He only led his team to the sweet 16, not very impressive. He led the nation in scoring, sure but that's not hard to do when you are asked by your coach to shoot the ball every posession and not have to play defense. Flat out, Jimmer doesn't deserve the award, but rather Cam or Kemba
