The Election! Oh and some sports, too

The week of the election. An inevitable week in which the Andy Reid 'coaching carousel' will be in full effect. A loss to the New Orleans Saints almost ensures a spot on Monster.com reading Eagles Head Coaching Job Wanted-- experienced coach with the ability to coach an inconsistent, yet talented running QB. A saints loss on the other hand almost certainly eliminates the playoffs for NOLA. The same way Obama may be eliminated from the title President of the United States, for good.
Red vs. Blue. But, will Obama be attending the Air Craft Carrier game that kicks off the College Basketball season if he loses to the red candidate? My money is on NO. The one week every four years when sports takes a back seat to the other most highly debated 'spectacle' that is politics. The same way watching college basketball all year prepares you for March (at least, you think), all those politic junkies will be glued to their televisions. One DVR recording SportsCenter, while on live is the election. ESPN is replaced by Fox News. Oh yeah, or MSNBC (we don't discriminate here at KeegansKickoff).
This week promises to bring many, many emotions. So, whip out those vitamins, stress balls and use that free massage coupon you have been saving. So, if you had a ballot full of NFL players and their stats so far this season, who would you vote for?
The Presidential ballot (MVP) consists of Robert Griffin III, Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Arian Foster and Tom Brady
The Vice Presidential ballot is represented by players who are exceeding expectations either at a young(Ryan) or old(Biden) age: Peyton Manning, Doug Martin, Ryan Tannehill, London Fletcher
Finally, the Speaker of the House Award. In honor of Nancy Pelosi, players who just won't go away. As much as we don't want them to be, they (she) is/are still going strong. So, Nancy, this is for you and those crazy eyes(tm)-- Randy Moss, David Garrard, Jason Hanson, Kerry Collins

So, who will be filling the 2013 March Madness bracket? Will Romney even have time for that (unintentional jab at Obama)? Who will throw out the first pitch at the Nationals game and shake Bryce "the bro" Harper's hand? What would have happened had Herman Cain not had the sexual harassment accusations against him (yes, I slipped that in)?

So, whether it's Clint Eastwood and his unforgettable metaphor for Chrysler and America or George Clooney and his unquestionable support for Obama, don't let celebrities, mainly athletes influence your decision. Whatever you do, don't listen to Sam Presti (Thunder GM) and trade away an inevitable championship trophy in the next 3 years for a chance to rebuild....I haven't forgot about! Don't be that person who goes out of their way to select NBA All-Stars, brings a pen to a baseball game in June just to punch their ballot or votes on who will be Kim Kardashian's next boyfriend (my money is on Chad Ochocinco, just imagine...) but doesn't vote for their President. Hey, that's sports!
