Diary of a LOYAL Bay Area sports fan

First off, you need to know step no. 1 to being a sports fan... No matter the team, city, etc. blaming the refs is not a valid scapegoat. Refs are human, that is part of sports, they make bad calls about as much as they make great calls. The fact is, if you are mad about the refs know that (as hard as it is to think about) your team shouldn't have put themselves in that position. That is rule number 1: Never, ever blame the refs for a loss. To me, I see the 49ers lost that game because of inexperience (the entire first half), defensive secondary (or lack thereof), inexperience, being out coached in the final eight-or-so minutes of the game and finally, inexperience.
The fact is, Kaepernick didn't show up in the first half and Harbaugh should have ran a more effective 1st & Goal in the final minutes. Why run with Lamichael James (not Frank Gore) on 1st and G???? That, to me is the main, of many, plays that the Niners wish they could take back. It was a crazy, crazy, crazy game and the Ravens (whether you want to admit it or not) outplayed the 49ers for a majority of the game. The Tony Montana squad (9er's special teams) came out flat and allowed a kickoff return TD. That should never happen. I, alike many LOYAL Bay Area sports fans and Niners fans alike had to blow off steam in some way and here are some of my tweets throughout the game:
The 'golden' tweets started at Halftime after long periods of disgust contemplating the 49ers first half performance:

Hard to enjoy Beyonce when you are mad about a game. I understand all the SF fans disgust with the first half. Also, where is her husband? Is this not a family event???

Did the Buffalo Wild Wings employees just turn off the lights??

if Ray Lewis were to hit someone "helmet to helmet" would they call it an "antler to helmet" hit????

Younger brothers NEVER quit. We have that Competitive/Clutch/SuckIt gene

So, since I refuse to talk about Ray Lewis, lets just move past the segment of "overly hyped and enthusiastic end of their career guys who make sure we all know that they are crying/moping/skeeving/yelling/sniffingdeerspray." Those types of players don't deserve two championships or any publicity in a KeegansKickoff column.
It is crazy just to think the Bay Area is anywhere near where they have gone these past few years. Each team is unique and each team has something to show the sports world that they have accomplished these past magical, crazy, sports fans dream years.

The San Francisco Giants started everything off. Taking the baseball and sports world by surprise after sneaking into the post-season in 2010 with one of the worst offenses in baseball history. After exploiting big spending teams, they ultimately took down the mighty Rangers. Then, 2012 mesmerized all of us as we asked "deja vu????" The 2012 SF Giants season seemed to prove the 2010 title was more than a mere hoax, rather the start of a dynasty. Now, the Giants are at the pinnacle of baseball. The Yankees, BoSox, Rangers and Tigers are all looking up at "you can now call them" Mighty SF Giants!

The Oakland Athletics brought back the classic "Oakland A" baseball we all remember and rode the hype from an Oscar nominated film to an AL West title and post-season appearance. Alike the Giants, the Athletics brought back memories from the 2002 "Moneyball" season. They provided us Bay Area folk with the most magical roller coaster of a summer/fall we have ever experienced. With much of the same team back and saber-metrics at the peak of it's existence, the A's are back and ready to take the AL again by storm.

The San Francisco 49ers endured years after years of bottom-dwelling in the basement of the NFL standings. Then, along came Jim Harbaugh. The Palo Alto native turned this team around so drastically that it is hard to even recall how this team was so bad pre-Harbaugh days. After a heartbreaking conference championship the Niners returned and this year reached the goal of the Super Bowl. They came up short (still a very, very sore subject). However, they found a true gem in the kid Colin Kaepernick and are extremely young. They will be back, in due time.

The Golden State Warriors are currently residing in the Western playoffs 5th spot. Are you kidding me? Isn't this the same team that was in the lottery last year? After a much needed revamped roster, jerseys, front office, the Warriors have their sights set on hosting a 2013 NBA playoff series. WOW! After having their first All-Star since 2002, the Dubs roster is looking stronger than the 2007 "We Believe" team.

I could go on for hours about each of these teams and bring up the Sharks and Raiders and I wouldn't be able to begin to describe the madness that is going on in the Bay Area. I am going to be completely honest, I never thought the Bay would be at the pinnacle of the sports world. I never want it to end. I hope i'm not dreaming!
We have endured so much and gone through years and years of embarrassment, however the trial of staying loyal is finally paying off. The Bay Area is THE best sports city/area in the country. Sorry, I need to type that again. THE BAY AREA IS THE BEST SPORTS CITY/AREA IN THE COUNTRY. Who has it better than us?!?! NOBODY!!!!!!
