Chipper Jones has been the Braves captain for fifteen years, and what a career it has been. Chipper suffered an injury yesterday that will end his season, and is expected to be out for 6 months. Even before the injury Chipper was contemplating retirement, after this season. This very likely was his last game ever played. He has won a rookie of the year award, MVP and batting title, in 2008. He is a Brave for life.
A walk on college football player has some size, that you can't believe. Usually a big college football player is about 6'5 and 320. This young man, a walk on at Ole Miss is way bigger. He is measured at 6'11 and weighed in at 390. Whether he will make the team or ever play football is still to be decided. He should have turned his attention to basketball way before football.
Jeff Van Gundy a former NBA coach and now analyst came out with some very very risky predictions about this year's Miami Heat. "They will break the single season win record of 72 wins (held by the '96 Bulls). I think they have a legit shot at the Lakers' 33 game winning streak as well. And only the Lakers have even a remote shot at beating them in a playoff series. They will never lose two games in a row this year. " Van Gundy continued "There is now no good way to guard them. They are unguardable. They are indefensible. They are just too good and have so much shooting and are so versatile, they will score at will." .......All I have to say is wow, and I hope that other teams prove him and the Heat wrong. I am sure that the Heat players agree completely with these comments, especially the queen himself Lebron. Kobe will prove them wrong and beat the in a playoff series.
