A comeback followed by a setback

It was a normal day in the USC weight room when running back Stafon Johnson started to bench press. Johnson was benching 275 pounds when the bar slipped and crushed his larnyx. He was rushed to the hospital, and his vocal cords were damaged. This was a freak accident that almost took his life. Johnson couldn't play the rest of the year at USC, but miraculously made a comeback and was playing in the senior bowl and going to the NFL combines. Johnson as expected went undrafted, but was later signed by the Tennessee Titans. He played in his first game as a pro yesterday against the Seattle Seahawks, and was looking very good. He had 3 carries for 23 yards, then he ran the ball and his leg got caught underneath the pile, and he couldn't get up. He finally wiggled his way out of the pile. When they got him off the field, in a cast they realized he dislocated his ankle. It was a heart-wrenching moment because we have been so impressed with his courage, strength and endurance he had through this amazing comeback. He is a dedicated football player and is willing to do whatever he can to grace a football field again. He just wants to be great. Good luck Stafon Johnson.
