2011 sports oscars

It's that time of year again when the oscars roll around highliting the excellent acting displays in world wide movies. The oscars always have tons of hype but never seem to live up to them. The Grammy's are 2 weeks before the oscars and much more entertaining. Keeping with the theme of the awards, it's time to give out the spaorts awards for the 2010 year. The best actor award in pro sports goes to....... Brett Favre, for the third straight year. Favre shows displays great emotion and "real" tears in his interviews. He just loves the drama, which is why he was also won the emmy for best actor in a drama series. The best director "coach" goes to Phil Jackson, head honcho of the Lakers. Phil Jackson has led his team to back to back NBA championships. The award for the best horror film goes to the Minnesota Vikings. They were led by the best actor, Brett Favre, had a losing season and to top it all off had their stadium collapse. The award for best series goes to the Lakers vs. Celtics in the NBA championship. A historical rivalry was renewed and the teams went into seven games, every game was a nail bighter.
Duke college basketball is a famed tradition, every year they are competing for a national championship. This year they have moved in and out of the number 1 spot in the rankings. They are an extremely talented team. Many people still believe they are the favorites to win the national championship. The really scary thing is that they could be better. They are already a great team led by Kyle Singler and Nolan Smith, but they are missing their point guard Kyrie Irving. Irving is out for the year with an injury, but before that injury he was averaging 17.8 points per game. I know that Duke is a very good team, but I am hesitant to say that they will win the national title, because Irving is out. The teams that I look to possibly make some noise in the tournament are Baylor, St. John's, Kansas State, George Mason and UCLA.
