Let them fight!
The NBA playoffs are awesome for 2 reasons, the players actually try 100% at all times, because every game matters, and the smack talk. We already saw RonMetta World ArtestPeace "accidentally" elbow James Harden in the noggin. This was an example of what should be, and what I am hoping for is playoff basketball. The atmosphere of the post season adds a lot to the game, even watching on television. I can sit in the comforts of my own home, with a bubbly and watch the playoffs, yes please! I know people argue that the fighting and smack talk is "bad for the game" and my favorite "takes away from the game", I have even heard "its not WWE, its basketball!" Who CARES!!! Everyone with the exception of those animal rights kinda people want to see the players jeering back and forth, and as long as no one gets seriously injure, its fair game! So Metta, when you come back from the suspension that you earned, don't act like a saint and try to kiss the commissioners butt, rather, go out there and show everyone the reason that your crazy, the reason you have a phychiatrist and the reason you have been suspended over 100 games. We all want to see it, because it makes good TV. Just don't elbow anyone, please.
I have frequently been asked the question who will win the NBA title this year?! My answer comes out immediatley, the Miami Heat. I hate them, with a passion, but they are the best. If Lebron takes a chill pill and doesn't start freaking out in the fourth quarter like well basically every playoff game last yera, then the Heat will win. Even with Rose the Bulls aren't as good a team. I don't even want to hear the argument "Well, the Bulls are the one seed, so they're better." Give me a break! When the Heat really want to win they do, because they outrun everyone. When the Heat run, they are almost unbeatable. I would love to see the Lakers play the Heat, but the only thing holding them back is the spaniard, Pau Gasol. The Spurs are legit, even though it seems like they have had the same core players since the Titanic sank. The Thunder will win a championship soon, but just not this year, it's still too early and they still have one missing piece. The Thunder won't win a championship without a better scoring 4/5. If Kendrick Perkins and Ibaka are the only big men that are worthy of a ring on your team, you won't win a championship. Once the Thunder lose to the Lakers in the playoffs, instead of Westbrook and Durant moping over the loss with their backpacks and shades on they need to go recruit another big man, even if he comes off the bench. The only team that really stands a chance against the Heat in the East now are the Boston Celtics, if only their team average age wasn't 79 maybe they would stand a chance. I feel like I am watching a local Boston rest home play basketball. They are gonna collapse any second. Jermaine O'neal as the center on a championship team, you have got to be kidding me, does Danny Ainge still think it's the twentieth century??
Can't wait till the upcoming draft with the Kentucky 5(Davis, MKG, Jones, Lamb, Teague), the UNC 3(Barnes,Henson,Marshall) and the Baylor athletic, but liability 2(Jones, Miller).
NBA Comparisons:
Anthony Davis- A more athletic Serge Ibaka, but could become a lengthier Dwight Howard that can shoot if he goes to the gym and gets bigger.
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist- A better rebounding Andre Igoudala, with better work ethic. Needs to learn to shoot better though.
Andre Drummond- Can't spell bust any simpler. Some compare him to Dwight Howard, I say at best Deandre Jordan.
Bradley Beal- I don't see the comparison to Ray Allen, but I see a better rebounding Monta Ellis, with range. He is the prototypical shooting guard.
Thomas Robinson- Way too hyped in my opinion, he is too undersized. I see a lot of similarities to JJ Hickson.
Jeremy Lamb- Tough one, less athletic Joe Johnson. If he is motivated, he could be really good.
Harrison Barnes- Paul Pierce. Could develop into a good spot up shooter though, with post up ability.
John Henson- Stay Away! Another lengthy power forward, sounds a lot like Anthony Randolph and Brandon Wright, both busts.
Perry Jones- He is somewhat of a risk, but the award could be golden. He has insane talent and athleticism. Best case- Durant.
Austin Rivers- Jeremy Lamb, or Monta Ellis. Not as skilled as Lamb, but safer pick. Somewhat undersized for a 2 guard, kinda like Monta.
Terrence Jones- Lamar Odom, he is a sleeper pick. I would take him top 8, not a lot of others would. He will end up being the sixth man on a championship team, a lot like his comparison Lamar Odom was. If he is motivated, he can be very very good. Wow, he must be related to Lamar, sounds just like him.
