The KeegansKickoff effect
As I opened up the internet to head on over to Keeganskickoff and write you all a top of the line blog, I noticed on Yahoo headlines that Shawn Johnson will be retiring from gymnastics. This is very, very depressing news as that was a one of the reasons I was planning on watching this summer's olympics. Best part of the olympics still has to be the swimming and basketball. The swimming because it is so competitive and always close, and the basketball because it earns our country major bragging rights. There is no other sport that our country dominates over any other country to the extent that we do in basketball.
I will be graduating in a week and heading to BYU on the 15th of June. It is a sentimental moment, the graduation that is, but I am looking forward to heading off to college and starting a new life somewhere else and on my own. I will continuing to write for Keeganskickoff no matter where I am, and I will be pursuing a career in sports writing. I don't consider writing, discussing, studying or analyzing sports work, and I actually really enjoy it. For this reason I can't see myself pursuing a career other than in sports right now. I want to thank every follower and reader of Keeganskickoff and I en courage you to keep reading and give me input as well as argue, because I love to argue and debate about sports. I have heard of people being sad, then going on to read a blog on Keeganskickoff and instantly becoming happy and ecstatic. I heard of a student that didn't do homework or study for weeks at a time, only read Keeganskickoff and achieved a 4.0 GPA. I heard that is statistically proven to improve your credit score as well as lower the down payment on your house by reading Keeganskickoff daily. I have even heard a man that was fired for reading too much Keeganskickoff at the workplace and when asked about if he has any regrets, he stated "absolutley not, nothing satisfies me the way Keeganskickoff has throughout the years, if I were to choose free health care for all or Keeganskickoff, I would respond so fast with Keeganskickoff." I am honored by all of these incidents and it does encourage me to keep writng for the sports world. At times I can be somewhat biased, I admit that but if you know me, you know that I will be the first to criticize my favorite teams and give my input. I am sorry if the articles "aren't interesting" enough, because although I have never heard that complaint, I will entertain that people have been saying it, and just respond with "what sports articles are better? and more interesting?" I will answer the question for you, there aren't any. Now that we have gone through all the possible negative comments said about Keeganskickoff, here are some of my favorite positive comments... "hillarious", "heart-wrenching", "inspiring", life changing", "incredibly accurate", "perfect", "more real than Lebron's receding hairline", "more hops than a case of miller light"(not really sure how to explain that to my parents), "more clutch than Kobe", "more thug than Stephen Jackson", "hits harder than a Metta World Peace elbow". All of these are awesome comments!
I am so thankful to everyone that has inspired me to write about sports as well as encouraged me to pursue sports writing. Also very thankful to all the bandwagoners that are SO easy to talk smack to and pick on. Also to the kids and adults that will argue and debate with me about sports. To all the people who will call me out when they disagree with what I am saying. To all the march madness fans, that make it the best sporting event of the year. To all that will just have a conversation about sports.
Thank you, Thank you.
